Nellie Foster
Nellie Foster, Founder and Director of Absolute Allergy Relief , comes to Kauai with a broad health and theatre-related background. Prior to moving here she served as the Director of Clinical Operations and an adjunct Faculty member at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Scottsdale, AZ. Her 35+ years of medical experience includes working as a medical lab manager with a group of OB/GYNs as well as assisting patients and physicians in the field of Infertility as an IVF/Donor Program Coordinator and Education Specialist.
She is a co-founder, along with her husband, Cass Foster, of the Hawaii Holistic Health Centers – where she practices her allergy relief program. “I am so proud of our center. Our patients/clients often need more than one modality for health related issues and our center provides that. Our traditional and non-traditional practitioners are doing a lot of good for a lot of people!”
Her theatre-related background includes working as an educator, actor, director and set & costume designer. Working with The Ohio State University theatre department she helped implement programs to reduce gender and race barriers among students in the public school system. Locally she has worked with Hawaii Children’s Theatre (www.hawaiichildrenstheatre.com) and Pono Players to direct a program designed to help youth explore the troubling issues surrounding teen suicide, HIV and other STD’s, body image and peer pressure.
She is also a producer and co-founder of Oceanside Productions (www.OceansideProductions.com) – a theatrical company in Kauai – where Nellie is currently performing in “The Complete History of America: (Abridged).”
